Student led conference 06/07/2010
My first reflection I am going to write is about camp Camp I think I was a risk-taker at camp because I participated in all of the activities. The thing that I think was the most challenging and I am sure other people think so too was the abseil, Abseil is were you go down a cliff backwards. Another thing that was very hard to do was is sleeping in tents, Well all had to make our own tents and sleep in them. I did not like sleeping in the tents, The ground underneath was very rocky and if I accidentally rolled off my mat I would scratch my hand or arm. The thing I liked best about camp was the climbing wall. I beat the record for climbing the wall the fastest. My second reflection is on typing, Typing I did really well on typing, because in the middle of the year I was behind in typing and now at the end of the year I have finished all the typing levels. I think the reason I caught up is because I practiced one time a day all days and I practiced for 10 minutes each time. At one point in the year I was two months behind and I shot ahead due to practice. My third reflection is on Mandarin. Mandarin This year I think I improved my mandarin because I practiced every night so I think I have improved my mandarin diction. I think I have been very committed to mandarin I have been getting good grades on my dictation I will show you some of my good test scores compared to my bad test scores. My fourth reflection is on the exhibition. I did really well at the exhibition because me and my solar power team got solar power for the new school in sai kung. We had a meeting with the project designer for the new school in sai kung and we showed him a model solar car. A few weeks later he told us that they are using solar power and wind energy for the new school in sai kung. We were really happy and everyone thought we deserved it after all our hard work. My fifth reflection is about handwriting. my handwriting has gotten way better over this year I consecrate more on my handwriting more and I improved it a lot. If you click this link you can see my improved handwriting. Math I have improved my math skills because I go on mathletics everyday and I have tried a lot harder during math class. I always complete the math activities that Mr.birch sets for us on mathletics the day he gives it to us. Another thing that I think is helping me with math is my math tutor who gives me some questions about what we are doing in math,he helpted me a lot and is one of the reasons why I have improved. On sunday I went to a art show. It was very crowded. I did not like any of the paintings. My parents forced me to go. I thought it was really boring because the paintings were not really that interesting, and they did not grab me. On the way out we saw A sign saying that there was some more paintings done by professionals like Picasso. I also did not like those paintings because most of them were abstract and I don't really like abstract. After that we took a taxi home. Guantamera 05/26/2010
Exhibition end reflection 05/16/2010
I think my group did well in the presentation was getting there attention. We had the solar cars up front which was eye catching. We also had a poster hanging down from our table and another poster behind us. The thing that I did well in during the exhibition was probably talking to the people that came to our stand. I was very descriptive and I also talk slow but with a lot of emotion. I talk well with the older kids but I still made the little kids understand. The thing I could do better in next time is work on my solar power wiki more. You guys may have read in the paper about a dog called shaddy who saved mans live if you have not heard about it then read on. Shaddy and her owner (who will remain unnamed) were walking through aberdeen country park when shaddy stopped in front of some bushes and started to bark, Shaddy owner called her lots of times until she finally went to see what was in the bushes and she saw a man lying there unconscious. she called the ambulance and the police. The only good thing about this is that shaddy was from hong kong dog rescue and so that promotes them. Good thing that they decided to take a walk that day! Meeting with project designer 05/04/2010
On monday I had a meeting with the project designer. His name is Michael Kwok, He brought in a solar car (if you ask Clio,Osama or thomas.G they will show you) he seemed very enthusiast about solar power. For the exhibition I have made a meeting with the project designer, I got a solar car and made it, I have faxed a letter to Ma Wan school (10% of the school runs on solar energy). I still have to wait for a reply from Ma Wan school and the project designer. I hope the people that come to the solar power presentation will walk away knowing that Solar power is better for the environment than normal energy. PTC reflection 04/25/2010
I think my PTC reflection went really well. Andy and sally told me all the homework that I should try harder in and my mom liked the presation I put together. I worked really hard on my presation I am glad my mom liked it. I am going to try to work harder on my homework. PTC 04/12/2010
Welcome to my parent teacher confrerence blog post. In this blog post I am going to write about things that I have improved on. I have linked in on some of the things that show I am a good learner. Writing For parent teacher conferences I am going to show my parents one piece of work that I am proud of called Romeo and Juilet and one piece of work that I am not so proud of called Chi Lin Nunnery. In Romeo and Juliet I was really descriptive and I used more detail then in Chi Lin Nunnery. I think in Chi Lin Nunnery I did try but I just didn't describe as well as I did in Romeo and Juliet. Here is how I think I did on a rubric. Math My math short term goal is to focus more on fast division I can improve this by practicing on mathletics. I also think I have been doing a lot more working out if you click here you can see a math page were I did some working out. My long term goal is to try to be neater in my math work book. My Goals My goals this year are to work on my blog more because I think I could write way more than I am doing now if you look at this blog post you will see what I mean. My second goal is to improve my Mandarin test goals I have been practicing, but I think I should be trying a bit harder. I have one more goal which is to get to level 24 in typing. UOI In UOI we have different units, the unit so far that I think I did the best is where we are in place and time. In that unit the thing I did best at was the chinese clothing, I made a costume of a Chinese poet. My goal for UOI is to write more reflections on how the unit went. Profiles My learner profiles for this year are that I am a thinker, caring and inquirer. I think that I should keep those ones because I usually am thinking more about any questions I get. Caring because if any of friends have a problem I help them. Inquirer because I inquire about any questions I have to do in class. At the beginning of the year I chose three learner profiles that describe me the best.
